So I'm thinking I just deal with the riding position and get a more comfortable seat (most aftermarkets push you forward with more cushion from what I've read). I've also considered the hideous looking HD tallboy seat. Any thoughts? Yeah I've read about every seat thread and post on this forum. Also I'm about 6'3 and 215lbs 36 inch inseam
I really wish I could justify having my Lo AND a touring bike in the stable!!
on the back of your seat do you have one or two bolts that hold the seat down
Ultimate Passenger Seat
The Ultimate passenger seat fits with all passenger backrest sissy bars and is 14 inches with comfort to spare.- For 2010 and newer SoftailŽ ConvertibleŽ, we do not offer a passenger seat. However, the rider (driver) seat and driver backrest will work.
I have the two bolts. It's stock. This is what I read. No idea what the convertible means.
I find my stock seat comfy with ample padding.
Now the stock seat on my 07 Street Bob was like sitting on plywood.
I bought the black aux light bracket and buckets from HD. It comes with all mounting hardware and wiring. This allows you to select your own lights. I went with the HD LED lamps because I got a good deal on them and they matched my Truck Lite head light.
When you are ready to put passing lamps on, I will send you the part # for the headlight power bypass harness. It plugs directly into the fender tip light plug hidden under the front of your tank. It provides constant switched power that does not turn the aux lights off when going to high beam, but turns the lights off when you turn the ignition power off.
I then used the extra plug to power my GPS. I got a blank connector and pins from HD and I can add or remove my GPS by plugging it in or unplugging it. It also provides switched power to my GPS.
No cutting wires and I have the road lit up at night with both high beam and aux lamps on at same time.
Forgot the new addition: I picked up a second harness and put it in tandem with the first. I used the extra connector as a switched power for the new stereo. What fun that was, tank came off and my best bud and I ran the stereo wires to the battery under the tank for main power and the extra connector gave me switched power so when ignition is off, stereo goes off.
I have not tested it on the road yet as it fricken snowed here again and is forecast for the rest of the week. It is loud and sounds no different that my buddies SG stereo.
I am not worried about the draw on my Stator as all of my lights are LED.
Global warming my @$$!
