In the ever continuing saga to make my Fatboy Lo run cooler I installed an external breather on my stock air box. I used the stock breather hoses but using hose and. T fitting and a 3/8" K&N filter no more hot oily air going back in the engine!
Only thing that ever cooled down my FB was Love Jugs. Can't speak to their longevity, but man they lowered my temps 20-50 degrees.
I live and ride in the Southern California desert where it gets mighty hot. I've had Love Jugs on my lo for 5 years during which time I've put over 30,000 miles on the bike. I've never tested to see the actual temperature benefit they provide but I believe that at very slow speed or when stopped, they lower temp. At moderate to higher speeds I don't think they have much if any significant benefit because of the effect of the "wind" caused by the speed, just like my face would feel no (or very little) effect from a fan blowing from the side while I'm travelling at 50+ mph. Unfortunately, when stopped, like at a traffic signal (which is when they're most effective and beneficial to cooling the engine), the very hot air coming across the cylinders blows directly at my right thigh which is, to say the least, not ideal. I do tolerate (suffer) that extreme heat on my leg in the summer because I think it's beneficial to my engine when the ambient temperature is over 100 (I've ridden when it's been 120 --- not a good idea). However, when the outside temperature is cooler, I've taken to turning off the fans for my comfort.

You are correct. I had PowerVision gauges and Love Jugs on my old Fatboy. Going down the interstate at 70-80 mph, the Jugs lowered temps by about 10 degrees, sometimes not much at all.
But, at slower speeds and idling in traffic or stop lights, that's when they REALLY started kicking ***. I could sit there and watch the temp literally drop as I was idling. Without the Love Jugs, that 110 Screaming Eagle engine would have been way over 300 degrees. With the Jugs, it would usually be around 250 or so.
Great product in my experience. Ugly, but effective.
By the way, I never had that problem with hot air blowing on my leg. Don't know why, just didn't.

I'm feeling as though my bike it taking bumps a little harder lately. may have to replace the shocks, or is there something else i can do. Would like to remain with stock. Show i get them from Harley, or is there a better place to go?
I should add that this is not the first thing I have done to work on cooling on my 2016 Fatboy. I live in Phoenix and ride most of the year. I have Vance and Hines short shots that have been header wrapped. This lowered rear leg temps amazingly well. Second I have an FP3 tune. Working with the guys at Vance and Hines this has been optimized for my riding. Next I run a 'OIL BUD" oil cooler system under my engine and transmission. I installed the external breather as a next step. Finally I just ordered the DK customs kit to relocated my coil. When installing that I plan to remove the mid-frame heat shield on the left side to get more air flow behind the back cylinder. I am looking for any input people might have about external oil breathers they might have installed.

In the front, changing oil, cleaning the valves, etc. would probably help. In the rear, I believe they are just replaceable. If replacing them, I'd never go back to HD... I'd buy some Ohlins or Progressives, better shock and probably cheaper anyhow.
