perfect example, my handle bars are from a wideglide. they were chrome and i rattle canned them, not once has anyone questioned them. you know why, cause no one cares. it's your bike, do what you want. if you want to pay extra for a black nut go right ahead, i'll just paint mine.
I hear ya there. I'm no stranger to DIY paint. Done it on multiple trucks/cars and now carried it over to the bike. I've got stuff on my bike as it sits now that is rattle canned black. I guess I was just wanting a more permanent solution. I've pulled my tank so many times, though hopefully I'm past all that now, that I don't wanna be constantly repainting it.
I've spent stupid money on black hardware. Try Grainger if you need to. Not cheap, but they usually have what I'm looking for if I cant find it anywhere else.
I agree, did the same. Just couldn't find the style of bars i wanted in black. I wanted something a little shorter from end to end. The wide glide bars were perfect. I sat on one and knew i wanted them. Found a set on ebay and rattle canned them.
So On my 16 Fatboy Lo i installed Progressive rear shocks. I hear that the front cartridge for the fatboy Lo from Progressive is harsh. I hear swapping the oil in the forks for the Screaming Eagle Heavy Duty makes the ride better. Has anyone done this?
I have recently installed front and rear progressive shock. If I could only do one it would be fronts. They are a little sharper on small bumps but not uncomfortable. The difference with handling and road feel is incredible.
