I don't see why not. The Wild Hogs made it from Cincinnati to Madrid NM in a day and a half, pushing their bikes the last 20 miles. What was even more amazing was their wives making it there in a mini-van in 10 hours.
Seriously, why not add a day to both ends of the trip and enjoy it a bit more?

I can do 5 to 600 miles/day, no problem. Slap a face shield on your helmet, stop regularly and stretch, maybe smoke one...you'll be fine....BTW, I'm 58 yo

Ironbutt rally is 11,000 miles in 11 days. I think they also have 1,000 in 24hrs and a 1,500 miles in 36hrs recognition award. May help provide an idea of the kind of stamina and endurance need for those types of road trips. The Ironbutt website may have a few tips on their website as well. I'd post a link but I am on my iPad.

@ Misbehaven. I have those same pipes and I got the 2" baffles. Hope they're loud enough. No such thing as too loud IMO. @CaptainMorgan. I did 714 miles on a Honda 650 Nighthawk in 1983. Rode thru 80 degrees in Iowa into thunderstorms in Nebraska and snow in Colorado. It was a blast at times and it sucked *** in the snow. Most I've done since is 500 or so. Good Luck Bro. Nothin like road trippin on a bike...if you're prepared.

I'll check on the trailer from Uhaul. The only thing with that is I would have to haul it with my SUV which would definitely cost more in gas. I have also thought about picking up picking up a helmet with a shield, and retractable sun shield, like this one (which happens to be the same one my wife has, and loves, even though its a mens helmet): http://www.harley-davidson.com/mcm/m...bmLocale=en_US

But enough about my upcoming trip. This thread is about the actual bikes so post up your mods!

I'll be putting apes on mine (I have everything, just waiting, in the closet to do it), as soon as I can stop riding long enough to do it...

Right now the 1.75 baffels are fine. They are louder then I had expected them to be. I may order some 2.0's later on.
