Are you referring to the visor style headlamp ring? (i have my browser set up to view 40 posts per page, rather than 10, so idk which page it's on anymore.. but i put 69734-05 on mine, powder coated it, and it fits fine.. not sure how to help you without a picture of what you mean.. though i think i had to snap mine on over the retaining ring things that the stock ring slides into..

Man that is cool! Wish the pics were a little bigger so I could see more detail. Reminds me of my former black SG without the fairing- it's a Lo-Glide!

Here's a thought.. how many of you actually use your heel shifter?

So went on a nice ride this past weekend up through the Catskill mountains in NY, as my buddy and I were cruising down the road, the leg of my jeans was flapping in the breeze.. fine, whatev, im used to it.. what i didn't realize was that it was wrapping itself around the heel shifter, so when I came to a stop i found out the quick way that I couldn't get my foot on the ground and almost fell over.. I had literally just thought to myself a few minutes earlier while riding that I never use the heel shifter and should remove it. Coincidentally, at the next 2 stops the same thing happened, the leg of my jeans wrapped around the peg and I almost fell over 3 times in a row. I yelled for my buddy to stop next chance he got, whipped out the allen wrench set, and ripped the damn thing off and threw it in my swingarm bag. Other than that, it was a damn fine ride..stopped by 3 Harley Dealers, 1 of which was closed because we got there too late.. one had an open house going on and got some free pulled pork sandwiches and good times. Saw another Lo up there that looked like someone from this forum.. NY plates that said "FatBoyz" or something like that.

got caught in the rain a few times, but found this kickass old arch made from stones.. there was this set of stairs that were all stone and overgrown with vines and stuff leading up into the woods going off to no where..it was just a really cool place to stop and stay dry..

and we randomly found some back entrance to West Point Military Academy.. so weird to come across, I had no idea we were riding through the Academy grounds..

Anyways, it was a good time.

Jim,

Yes the visor style.....like the pic immediately above your post. I saw the "notch" that the stock ring goes over and I made sure that it was over that.

Basically, if I look at it from a distance, it looks ok but as I look closer there is a small gap along the top side of the ring. I can move it somewhat freely with my hand back and forth about 1/16" of an inch. It even makes a slight click sound as it makes contact with the nacelle.

stupid question but do you have the screw on the bottom tightened properly? and it would help if you could post some pics up of what you're talking about.. if you're unfamiliar with how to do that on here we can guide you through that too (not making fun or anything, but some people on here don't know how to put pictures into a forum, just making sure you're all good)

Sgt_Jim,

I use my heal shifter all the time, that sucks about almost falling over though. I haven't had that problem, and hopefully I won't ever.

Sounds like a cool trip. Looks beautiful out there man. A little wet, but looks fun.

Me and a buddy went out this weekend and drove all over farm country around Smithfield, VA. It looked probably pretty goofy when we switched bikes for about 30 minutes. Glad no one passed us . A Harley jacket and a half shell helmet probably looks funny on his bike and his red jacket and full face helmet really looked funny on mine. And since when do you ever see a guy on an aped Harley out riding and taking the corners, while not quite as fast, with a Ducati? I left a nice long trail of sparks on every turn, I made sure of that

Jim,

Thanks for your quick reply! I do know how to post pics and may be able to shoot a quick video as well. I do have the bottom screw tightened to the point that the tabs on the nacelle and ring slightly bend toward one another.

The same degree of tightening has the stock ring snug and tight with zero movement.

Lemme reinstall it and snap a few pics....

Ok Sarge...here is the video:

I made sure it was seated behind the two rubber tabs on the nacelle as well...
