I sat on a Lo at the dealer today for the first time.
My first impression is that WOW it was SO comfortable. Coming from an Iron, the saddle felt great and I did like the feel of the footboards, though they would take some getting used to I think.

Even the stock grips felt great in my bare hands in comparison to my Iron.

Is the heel shifter necessary? I think I'd prefer not to use it if I didn't have to.

The salesman said I was long legged enough (I'm 6') that I didn't "need" the Lo and it was all about cosmetics at that point. I told him that I prefer the slammed look on a bike.

I also sat on a Street Glide and even though it's a sweet bike I didn't really like how it felt, at least as an initial impression. I felt like I was sitting on top of and balancing on a beam or something instead of sitting inside of it.

Once he found out I really dug a Night Train he tried selling me on a Wide Glide because it has a low and stretched look (said it has the most rake on a stock Harley) but I told him that I was really wanting something in the Softail family.

I felt the exact same way going from a Nightster to the Fat Boy Lo. I even tried a Dyna as well before I pulled the trigger on the FB. The floorboards took a little while to get used to, but I love em now. As for the shifter, you can easily take the heel shifter off and get a cap to go over the remnant from the dealer.

I was pretty much the same for me when I first sat on mine. Tried a few other bikes out, even some crotch rockets and just didn't feel comfortable till I sat on the Lo. I think the blue color really sold me. Now just gotta keep making it mine.

Default Batwing Fairing

Does anyone have a Batwing fairing on their FB Lo? If so how do you like the look and the ride? Thinking about putting one on my 2010 FB Lo
