Default Beach Bar Fiasco...

Well the bars came Friday. Started putting them on Sat, and lo and behold, cables too short. I broke my own rule, and I didn't measure. I trusted the phone sales/tech dude. Oh well, live and learn. Short story is that braided cables arrive tomorrow, and I get to spend a couple of hours replacing cables and bleeding brakes after work instead of riding.

As usual, once complete, I will post pics on this thread.

Gregor

Howdy Gregor, I hope that you have better luck this time around. It's no fun to have to work when you'd rather be riding.

Gregor, did you go with the standard beach bars or the narrow ones? I've been looking at bars for mine, but haven't actually seen the narrow beach bars on any bikes. Post some pics when you git 'r done.

Hmm, did you get the 39" ones or something? Mine are the 36" are I just had to rebend my brake line a little. If your using the stock risers I might could see that being a problem but I think you said you had already changed them in another post.

They are the 36" ones. I didn't want to bend the line over, I tried that on the old heritage and it cracked at the bend point. Guess I was a little rough. :-)

it's funny when you put things in perspective though, if I'm not riding my bike the next best thing is working on it. and I can't really think of too many other things I'd rather do. ride on or work on my bike is better than most anything else.
