thanks to all for the great feedback....
I never thought it may be a back issue, just an unconfortable riding position due to the extension of the arms and angle.... Let me do more digging into this.. Changing bars with all the gear needed (braided cables) is not cheap.. I guess an MRI/scan is not cheap either.

thanks to all!!!

Keep in mind that if you change the seat, lower and back like Rangers above, or forward and higher, that will change your reference to the bars. Looks like you changed the seat already. Also installing apes, getting a new seat first though to see where that puts me.

That is a common problem that you have described but can be eliminated with the right combination of bars, grips, and seating position. I have been riding for over forty years and have rode in every conceivable position on many different bikes. Riding with your arms extended straight out will cause this. The best position is with your elbows pointing down or at least at a 45 degree angle. Apes actually work great as long as they are not extremely high and they should be in a position close to your body, not stretching out too far. Use soft grips to cut down on vibration and as someone else said don't have a death grip on the handlebars. If it still persists stop and take more breaks.

You might want to look into these but I have no idea how well they work.
