I have a 06 Night train an have been doing alot of long rides. We did 700 miles, 2 week ago an 350 miles last Sunday. I am not a young man anymore an the wind is starting to beat on me on these long rides. So I was looking to see if anyone has been running a windvest windshield on there train for long rides an how good they work ?
Don't have a train but have had one on my Springer for a couple years now and love it. The Big H-D one I had has been hanging on the wall in the garage ever since the first time I rode with the windvest.
Also. I would suggest taking some time and looking on ebay for one. I bought mine there for $85.00!!!
I understand that there aren't that many guys the ride Springers looking for them and that is probably why I got such a good deal but there are still plenty of them on ebay for much less then the $300.00 plus they charge retail.
I run a 16" Windvest on my 'Train when I tour with it. Love it. Keeps the wind blast from wearing you out, and it does a damn good job of keeping the rain off your face. Got mine at coolwindshields.com.
Here's a 12in. cut it down from 14 ,
I don't like the way windshields look , but Keeps the Wind off your Chest fur da Long Highway Rides ..
And if your lookin for more wind protection yur Gunna have to get a BIG Harley one
Thanks for the replies. Talked to a Wind Vest rep an told me if I do not like it send it back. Ordered a smoke 14", just need something to take part of the wind off me. I like the way the softail rides on the long rides.
Received the smoked wind vest today, only took a few minutes to put on. This windshield is simple to attach. Took a short ride to see how it did, impressed me. Took alot of the wind off me at 70mph, was not having to hang on. Does not look bad on the bike either.
