I am in the market for a big bore kit and cams for my 05 fxsti. I beleive i am going with a screamin eagle 95" big bore, and some S&S Gear drives. Anyone gone this route that could recommend a place to buy the parts at a good price? I will be doing the install myself, with a hand from some of my biker buds. Just really looking to get the best price, or maybe other opinions on a better set-up. I have done some research, and found some pretty decent prices, but figured id ask around see what for shops/sites people are using. Thanks!
I got 96 Hp and 102 T. Bored out an extra set of barrels I had to 95". Used SE cast flatop pistons, used stock 2007 heads with a competition valve job and milled for 9.8 compression. Used a andrews 37 gear drive cam, new lifters, adj. SE push rods, late model cam plate and late oil pump. The maching was done by Short block Charlie. I also did the work myself with any help I needed by email to a friend in Texas..Was Dyno'd with stock Deuce head pipes and cycle shack slip ons. Bike screams and is fun to ride.. This was done early last summer and never have had any problems...
Hillside has 98" stuff. That's what I'm about to install on mine. If you're gonna punch it out, why not go all the way now? And get better pistons in the process. A couple more bucks, but worth it, imo.
