I bought an 07 deuce about a month ago and had just started to get into the nuts and bolts of it when I discovered an FI2000 under the seat. I researched it online and downloaded an installation manual to find out more about it. The bike appears to be stock and according to the dealer I bought it from has had the remap for the injection. It runs fine although the inside of the pipes look pretty black so, I know it's not running lean. I checked the pots on the fI2000 and compared it to the stock setting in the manual. stock setting green 1.5, yellow 0, red 1, the settings on the bike green 2.5, yellow 5, red 3, these settings seem a bit excessive for a stock setup, but the bike seems to run fine and have plenty of power. Is anyone using one of these and what setting did you find work best? I plan on experimenting with this but, wanted to get some imput on what direction to go.
Finally, someone else has one. I bought mine on a recommendation from my indy(they installed on my 07 Nightster). My only complaint was gas mileage. 25 city and 38 highway. My bike shred's my buddy's -ies (def plural) Raider, NightTrain and Fatbob... They all have downloads,PCIII... aftermarket A/C and pipes. The FI works, crude, but it works. I recently adjusted my pots and improved my MPG by 5 city ( thats all I ride on the Nightster). I have my settings on3,4,4. No pop on decell and no dead spots. It's never been on a dyno, but after seeing what she does to bigger bikes, I'm happy. No need to dyno. A Raider with 1854cc and aftermarket bolt ons = can't keep up. Check out this site and call to talk to thier techs. http://www.techlusion.com/ Thes guys used to make the Cobra's. Prepare to be schooled. I know I was.

I have the FI2000 which I purchased in conjunction with my Cobra pipes. It was factory set for my bike. I would have to look at the pots to tell you what those settings are. I haven't had issues with how the bike runs or my mileage(which didn't suffer too much) but I do have carbon in my pipes which indicate the bike is running rich. I am looking at doing some adjusting to see if I can lean it out. What is nice is that it can be removed with no harm to the bike. I kept my stock pipes and air cleaner if I ever want to sell it with the stock setup. I recently inspected the spark plugs and oxygen sensors and didn't note a carbon build up there. Nice to know that there is no real harm in my setup and I can remove all trace of the setup if I want to.
I would add that if your ecm has been mapped for your current setup that you don't need the FI2000. I doubt that it was remapped with the FI2000 installed as that would not make sense.

I have a DFO/TFI. Almost like a FI2000. When tuned correctly you should get 40+ mpg's. Im getting 42+ and the bike runs better then when it was setup getting about 38 mpg. Snappier throttle response, pulls a little better... Richer fuel mix does not mean better performance or the bike is running better. With dealer download, stock pipes and a FI2000, you are probably runnin way too rich. Does it have a hi flow ac?
It just has the std HD air cleaner. Todd's thought on the previous owner having pipes on it before he traded would make sense. I have never heard what stock pipes on a deuce sound like before I bought this one and these do sound louder than what I would think stock would sound like. I do plan on doing some experimenting with it so, maybe I should return the settings to what is stock in the manual and see if it runs like crap.
Ted
I pulled the plugs after work today and they were perfect so, I'm not sure whats going on? I think I'll call the guys at techlusion and run it by them. This is my first Harley so, it's going to be an adventure trying to figure these things out. Thanks for the advice,

I wish I could remeber the tecH's name @ techclusion I talked to. Chris or Andre? I think. Anyway I learned alot from them. I just bough my second HD in less than a year. I've been riding for 1yr to date. I'm like you, trying to pluck that chicken and figure this stuff out. The aftermarket EFI,ECU, dyno... market is mind numbing with the seemingly endless possibilities and outcomes. Keep us posted, PLEASE.
Bike has the stock pipes but Cobra baffles. Finally got to talk to the mechanic at the dealership that did the work. Asked why they didn't go with a high flow A/C, said that it ran the best with this setup. After looking at the plugs, I would have to agree.
