Default dumb question for the solo seat guys...

*Pics at the end. Easy as pie to remove fender protector.*

I just cant get used to the Saddlemen Explorer on my train, so swapping it out for a tattoo solo that will be here Thursday.

What do you do with the paint protector that HD puts on the rear fender? Leave it? Take it off, and if so...how?

I just dont want to go at it and screw up the paint only to find out most folks just leave it alone.

Cheers!

I took it off..... It just peels off.. it won't damage the paint.

My passenger seat has scuffed the paint a bit, but when i run solo i put on a fender bib. It looks better than the clear film on the fender.

Cool. Appreciate it.

I thought it might just peel off, but I've had stickers that started that way too and ended of turning into a big mess. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't on with any adhesive.

Thanks all! Love this forum.

I took mine off and use the fender bib but I wish that I had left it on to protect my fender when I put the passenger seat on.

I am running an experiment right now with my badlander seat. I had to get a 2-up seat or suffer the old lady's angst. I got some materials and covered the bottom of the passenger portion to see if it protects the paint. I tried the microfiber cloth under the seat, but couldn't get it to stay in place and not be seen. If this works out, I will post up pics and what all I used. I just want to put a few more miles on it before I say its good to go.

I just cleaned mine up, espcially around the edges and it's not so noticeable now on my Black Pearl paint job.
