I want to join the planet of the apes, but dont have the hundreds of bucks to shell out for parts, even if I do it myself. I COULD, but what if I hate it?
So here's my master plan. I figured I'd hit craigslist to see if anyone had an '07(ish) FXST, or FXSTC that they put taller bars on and hit them up for their stock takeoff's, bars and all cables. Should just bolt right up, no?
No luck, but then I started thinking what about street bob, wide glide, tall road kings, etc.?
DO the other model lines all use the same cable ends and stuff? Would they still just bolt up if I can find a generous donor to clean out his garage?
What I want is a free intro to trying out bars that aren't my stock drags to see if I like it. I dont mind doing the work, but dont want to spend the coin till I'm sure...
If your still interested, I have six" risers, stock drag bars, throttle, idle, brake and clutch cables. Cables are steel braided. Came off my 06 night train, I'm currently installing apes, so I don't need the parts anymore. Pm me if your interested, I'll hook you up.
Thanks for the offer brother. I've already got the drags on my '07 train. looking for a mini ape or stock bullhorn feel before I take the plunge on apes.
Looking for stock takeoffs from something that not a train, lol.
I don't know all the differences but I know a 2007 Duece is different than a 2005 Fatboy. Did the swap on the Duece today and will finish the Fatboy tomorrow
