Default Stator/rotor

Anyone know a reason why the stator/rotor would fail after being replaced two years earlier. Is there another underlying problem? Bike is a 2000 Fat Boy.

You didn't jump start a dead battery off a running car, did you?......That can blow up a stator.

Bad regulator can take out a stator just as a battery that has shorted out(not really common) can.

I learned on a previous bike (not a Harley) that you don't jump start a dead battery and ride. These charging systems are not meant to charge the bike, just to keep things up to par.
