How many miles to a tank of fuel should I expect from my 07 night train with vance & hines pipes? Also how many miles can I go after the fuel light comes on?
on my 07 Standard I run a stage I, PCIII and Sampson Street Sweepers, I get about 180 miles if it's mostly highway. Drops considerably in town light to light. I have gone 30 miles after light has came on, but try not to make a habbit of it...lol!
the three ST's son and I have, 2-07's and 1-09. they usually go 160-175miles before the reserve light comes on. thats with one gallon left in the tank having used 4 gals.
We usually get between 40 to 45 mpg.. 42-43 norm, if not ridden hard.
i get 200 on the od and i look for a gas station...my light comes on just under half tank...lol., but hear plenty sloshing in the tank, just dont go by the gauge cuz it dont work
On my 09 Fatboy I start to look for gas at 150-160 miles. I found out my count down to empty was dead on. At 10 miles remaining it changed and read LO. At that point I had 10 miles to the next exit. As I was slowing on the off ramp, she started to quit. I shut it down and coasted into the gas station. I had 206 miles on that tank and put 4.9 gallons in.
dang is the bike new (low miles)...it should get better with break in miles...mine has stage one and i have like 1/2 gallon left at 200 , but 200 and i look for gas....and i ride mine hard... my od might be a little off too with the 210/50 instead of the 200/55 also....
I have found that mileage can also depend on the quality of gas that is bought and how the bike is ridden. I get better mileage if I use Chevron premium than when I use Shell or Exxon. I also found out that it can depend on tire pressure and how much a person twists on the throttle. Also, sometimes when a person starts to upgrade the exhaust or the engine, that might also cause a change in mileage. I have found that several things can effect mileage and these are just a few.

Thats what I noticed also Chevron seems to get better milage and the bike actually seems to run better, chevron use techroline???
My classic cars also ran WAY better on chevron fuel.
I have tried switching I think it has to do with that Ethanol additive?? that other suppliers use.
2010 FLSTC, V&H BSL w BCT QQ2 Baffles, SE A/C and TTS. A bit over 2,600 miles in three months and averaging a smidge over 42 MPG. Last tank I put in 4.850 Gallons when the Range Remaining said "lo"; that was at 205 miles on the tank. My comfort level says not to stray to far above 175 miles on a tank on the highway, and 150 around town.
