I need a little help. I am giving my Springer a makeover and I am going for a bobber look. One of the things I want to do is lose the front fender. The problem is that I have a 2007 Springer Classic and, as you may know, the supports for the front fender are supported by the front axle. Once the fender is off, the front axle is way too long. I really don't want to have a couple of one-inch spacers hanging out there. Has anybody done this? Any advice?
We have a local machine shop here that does stuff like new axles or whatever you can dream up GRG design in Gainesville,Ga. TC is the man to speak to there.770-538-0092 Out your way give Ben @ http://www.pipedreamz.biz/pipez_wetdreamz.html Shop next door to him builds that stuff for him.I had each one of these shops build me new axles to my spec recently with great results.
I'm not quite sure of the arrangement on the later model springers but this is an easily solved one.Wish I could do what these guys do.Both good at it.G.
Chad, I am not selling the fenders or anything. It is a complete paint set with custom-done hot rod flames. I am going to keep them because who knows what I will do in future years.
