was a that the local indy today and saw two Heritages. 2001 with 6k miles for 12k, and an 06 with 3k miles for 14k. taking the wife back this afternoon to look, but both look like good one owner bikes and the price seems right on. anything specific i should look for in a used heritage, or anything hinky about those year models? Thanks, GTG
Cam tensioners on the 06, not sure about the 01. At 3K they are probably fine, but many shoes go at 20K or earlier. They can be retrofitted with the new hydraulic tensioners.
'06 for $14k? for $3k more you can have a 2010 for $16,999 msrp, with 0 miles.
just saying.
+1 In today's economy, $14k seems on the high side, but then again, I don't know your market and what bikes are going for. I'd pony up the extra $$$ and go for new.
I'd shop around. I've always bought used with low mileage. I got my '07 with 687 miles for 13.5. Completely stock and showroom condition but I looked like a maniac for 3 months. Ebay, Craigslist (even in different cities), Chopper Exchange and Cycletrader. I found mine local which was important cause I'm in CA and if I'd bought out of state it would've had to have 7,500 miles. I also wanted the 6 speed so an '07 was the oldest I'd go. Didn't care if I got the 96ci or an 88 but I'm ok with the 96.
