A couple of quick snaps before I clean her up, I learned a few new things this week doing these wheels. First that my arbor press will not accomodate a 21" wheel. Second, that I'm just about too old for this crap in the hot weather.

Those are for sure red wheels.
I would think maybe red spark plug wires and a red band on the fuel tank between the gold pinstripes.

I agree, red plug wires for sure and somethin in the trim so theres more red on the other side, and I'd consider black spokes

The wheels look great, but to my eye they don't work with the other colors...and the white walls?

To each his own.

Sorry...

Definately need more red so they don't stick out so much. I love the red wires idea. Maybe a red pinstripe on the tank and red stitching in the seat to set it off too. Other than that it looks allot better then I originally thought it would.

I really think they look good Knuck. Your bike is clean and unique, I dig it.

Quick question so I can learn though...I assumed you were just talking about the rims. did you leave the spokes in and powder the whole assembled wheel? Can you do that? I always assumed (again, more assumptions) that you couldnt.

I dig it, but if it were MY bike, which it isn't, I would go with black spokes too for contrast. Good job man.

Thanks. Yep, pulled the bearings and put the whole things in. I stuffed a rag in the bearing areas to make sure none got in there and covered the bolt holes with high temp tape. I could see powdering a rim and hub and then using new spokes. The wheels on the bike in my sig were done that way. Powder black and then assembled new with SS spokes. I was able to assemble the wheels, but I had to take it to a shop for truing. A two-tone powder coat, or powdering 40 spokes (without getting any threads) and then re-assembling and truing would be a very, very tough task. Disassembling the wheels was a lot more of a science project than I was looking for.

I had it in a hot rod and old bike show today. The hot-rodders loved the red wheels and white walls. I may put some other red accents on it, I haven't decided yet.
