I have a 1998 fatboy and have an issue with my front end......ive replaced the springs...dampner tubes and fluid but have a problem with bottoming out...bad....if im on the front brake and hit a decent bump my forks will compress to the point that the lower tree hits the top of the lower legs...just feels like i have no hydrolic action.....HELP.....im ready to buy a complete new frt end
Have you checked the insides of the forks? Are all the parts in there? Has it been lowered? If so how and how much? It sound like it might be missing something from the description you give.
Tell us more. What make of springs and dampeners did you replace them with? HD? I ask cuz allot of people have issues with Arlen Ness. Also, you did not mention the preload springs and at what length you have your preload spacers.
Bottom line, Progressive Springs, stock HD dampers, heavy fork oil and Progressive preload springs will put you were you want to be. If you do not want to lower the bike get stock length springs. Always use heavy fork oil and you should be good to go? Tell us more and someone may spot your issue.
