Default softtail deluxe

Hi

Am currently on an 883 but am thinking of buying a soft tail deluxe. I visited two dealers today - one told me that a deluxe will bottom out if riding two up (my passenger is 125 lbs) - the other dealer told me that the deluxe would not bottom out. Which is it!

Also what is teh deluxe like on the highway as compared to a road king?

Ride two up with full bags and a sissy bar bag never bottom out. Adjust the shocks if needed

Haven't ridden a RK, so I can't help you there.

But if they say a Deluxe will bottom out, I'd stay away from that dealer. My guess would be they had a more expensive bike they were trying to sell you.

Thanks for teh quick replies - in fact the dealer that said it would bottom out suggested the RK - but I would have to get into the lowering kit - whereas on teh deluxe I would not

We have never bottomed out. We go quite loaded, tent, bedrolls, sleeping bags, rain gear, saddle bags and trunk all full. I set the shocks for heavier loads.
