Am currently on an 883 but am thinking of buying a soft tail deluxe. I visited two dealers today - one told me that a deluxe will bottom out if riding two up (my passenger is 125 lbs) - the other dealer told me that the deluxe would not bottom out. Which is it!
Also what is teh deluxe like on the highway as compared to a road king?
Never heard anything about bottoming out they do sell sissy bars so I am assuming it wont haven't tried two up on my deluxe yet as for the interstate its perfect no complaints here love It much better than my other bikes
But if they say a Deluxe will bottom out, I'd stay away from that dealer. My guess would be they had a more expensive bike they were trying to sell you.
Thanks for teh quick replies - in fact the dealer that said it would bottom out suggested the RK - but I would have to get into the lowering kit - whereas on teh deluxe I would not
i have the fatboy lo with 2 up the bike rides hard and bottom out some times we both weigh a 130 pounds i would try the deluxe first my 2009 lowrider rode better with 2 up
When I got my deluxe last week it found me it was just there calling for me it was just something about it the screamed my name and like any animal lover I took the piglet home
We have never bottomed out. We go quite loaded, tent, bedrolls, sleeping bags, rain gear, saddle bags and trunk all full. I set the shocks for heavier loads.
