I as well am partial to the V&H BSS. I absolutely love the looks of fishtails but not willing to go below stock #'s. I know four guys on other forums who have dyno #'s that are below stock #'s after going to Samson fishtails or V&H true duals....unfortunately. I think BSS are a balance between looks and performance (sorry, not a fan of 2 into 1 on a Heritage). You will definitely gain performance ( I gained approx. 10% after stage 1 upgrade) due to the power chamber and I think they sound incredible.

V&H BSS here as well, but I did cut the 13 inch baffles down to 9 inches.

V&H staggered w/ quite baffles ... they are plenty loud and sound good. Had dealer installed at time of purchase. I agree with previous post that longs look best with the bags and staggers with bags off. Thought that I might leave the bags off more than I do as they are so handy to have as I ride every day so I keep rain gear, sun tan lotion, water, etc in the bags. I might switch to true duals at some point or else buy a second bike ... time will tell. I truly believe that the loud pipes are safer as I drive every day in moderate traffic and do not have a problem of cars cutting me off or not knowing that I am next to them. Most drivers seem to back off and give me space.

Thanks a lot! I have been up in the air about pipes to get for my Heritage Classic. I think after reading these posts and doing research I'm going to go with V&H BSS. Will post pictures later.

Are the V&H Double Barrel baffles easily removable? Also, what made you decide on the Double Barrel vs other pipes like the Big Shots. Are those leather heat shields on your oil tank?

BTW - the Double Barrels look great on your bike! I've got V&H slipons now but am undecided on which full system to get for my '10 FLTSC. The photos here are a big help.

The baffles are easily removed with one screw. If they are tight a little coaxing will get them out. I liked the BSS pipes but got a deal on the Double Barrels for 275 shipped brand new so I couldn't pass them up. The shields are from http://www.rjsoriginals.com/
The DB's were a little quiet with the stock baffles so I put BCT QQ's in. Nice!
