another coil + horn relocation
removing the lower bolt of the seat post was challenging without removing the exhaust but managed to do it using a swivel socket attachment...
the coil did not look good exposed (07 nt) so used the horn cow bell cover...bought a piece of 16 gauge sheet metal at hardware store, measured coil mounting holes, cut and drill, then painted...it does not have to look good as it hidden behing the cover...
fuel tank needs to be removed to extend the wiring, both coil and horn...
i've mounted it to the stock bolt that holds the horn, hopefully the rubber gromet in the bolt helps with vibrations...
swapped cables in the coil's harness so the spark plug cables don't cross...thanks tx_outlaw...
the horn is mounted to one of two threaded holes above the shocks...used one a bolt from the horn cover, i think it holds a metal braket for the horn cable, and put a bunch of loctite...
also electric grease on all connectors...
hopefully this helps anyone considering this mod...
There is space on the right side of the upper frame tube--right above/behind the carb area--that the horn will fit. There is a flat piece of bracing you can put a self tapping screw in, that wil hold the horn. You have to take the tank off to get in there, but once you do, you dont have to pig tail the horn wires or anything else.
The horn fits up under the tank and is completely out of sight.

I put mine under the tank. They sell a bracket for like $160 but I just built my own from sheet metal at Home depot. So far I got a tank lift, coil relocation, and side mount plate bracket from that $10 piece of sheet metal.
I'll try to get some pics up later.
