I also did the stove rope it seemd to make a little quiet at first but sounds way to loud for me. Im going to try it again but make it looser on the baffle and see what that does.
I like the big shot staggered but not the loud hollow sound.

The rope is too tight to absorb any sound. It's not that you wrapped it too tight. The rope itself is too dense to absorb any sound. It needs to be fluffy to absorb sound.
