YouTube has a couple videos of bike thefts....one on busy street with lots of pedestrians....used a minivan and 3 guys...took all of 10-12 seconds start to gone.
The only thing you can do is have good insurance. Any kind of forklock/wheel lock is worthless when you pick up the bike. Chains/cables can be "unlocked" with the proper cutter faster than you can undo it with the key. Most people don't even turn around and look when an alarm goes off. All professional bike thieves use the pick up and put in a van method....as soon as they shut the doors it is gone.
Man I'm sorry to hear that. As soon as I got my '10 Deluxe I put a Zoombak GPS locator on my bike. I have it wired directly into the battery and the unit is hidden under my battery. If my bike is stolen I can hop online and find out exactly where my bike is and deal with the thief myself. It's worth the $100 for me
ive been thinking of a xena disc lock alarm...and you sir have just made me pull the pin on the 90 dollar alarm....hope you get your bike back soon ....that jus blows

Damn I did not know anything like that existed. Here I was thinking about getting just a simple alarm / immobiliser system for my scoot. For me the security of the bike always gets put on the backburner as I tend to think of how I can modify before I secure. This sort of scenario really makes me think that I need to puull a finger out. My heart goes out to you mate!
Screw that, hang him from a short tree and water it with a lot of Miracle Grow.
That way he can slowly choke to death as the tree grows.
No fast broken neck for this kind of slimball.
Hope they get your bike back intact and undamaged, if not the insurance covers most if not all of what you put into it.
