A bunch of us were getting ready to ride our annual club ride this year on a 1500 mile trip. As we all were getting on our bikes one of the guys who rides an 07 Softail Custom could not start his bike. Making sure the passive alarm FOB was on the rider; the bike would not even turn over, and appeared the battery was dead. However, in the ON position at the main on/off/acc switch, the headlights came on real strong and the battery seemed ok. After a few tries (in the run position) the bike started to start but just seemed like it was not getting enough juice and then backfired really bad and died. All kinds of things were going through our minds as to what could be the problem.
Then we found what the cause was…very simple….
Can you guess what it was????
After a few days, I will come back to this thread and post what we found and see if any of you can guess what the problem was.
Simple...the linear actuator in the fob was not getting the proper ohms from the HD microwave repeater, thereby causing a flux in the ozone containment unit of the fratenstat....it's all in the manual...just sayin'
