Turned 40, looking to purchase my first Bike... I am 5'7, Was considering an 07 low rider. but dealer also has a Brand new 05 Deuce on the floor he can sell for around 15,500
Not sure what to do. Wife would also like to ride, (no license yet). so i was also trying to take into consideration that if she enjoys it, Then she could take my bike in a couple of years and i could get a new one. any advice would be appreciated.
Bought an 06 Fatty in May. I hadnt rode for 23 years. Fell in love with the bike after I saw Arnold on it in Terminator 2. Put on a sissy bar mid length for the wife and kids. Has a back seat but it is too hard for the wife so spent $100 on a HD gel pad and it is good now. I like to keep the wife fairly aerodynamic so she doesnt have much tush. As the wife and kids have gotten me parts to add on I have noticed that there seems to be fewer aftermarket stuff for the Deuce as compared to the other Softails. Either way, best advice is to put yer woman on back and make sure she is comfy then go for what you love. Every night I go to te garage last thing and google over my beautiful shiny bike! Life is good.
Congratulations on your mid life crisis. No better way to celebrate it than to buy a new bike. Get what you like best and let your wife get her own later beacuse she may want a new one when she is ready to ride.

Still looking
The Deuce is a cool bike.. It's very different from the other softails.. stretched tank being the biggest thing.
Here's one example of what you can do with one also..
Also.. That low rider I think has mid controls.. Deuce has forward controls.. that would be no contest for me.. Gotta be able to stretch out the legs. Sit on them and put a foot up on the pegs.. You'll see the difference. Of all the skinny front tire bikes, the deuce gets my vote.
