I would have just got 20-50 Amsoil or 20-50 V twin Mobile 1, and called it good.

I like synthetic oil. Ran Dino for break in and all is fine.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I hope he's just messing with us. If he is serious, this dude has no business doing ANY maintainence on his bike.

LOL now I'm worried I've angered the maintenance police. Guess I'm gonna lose my oil change privileges. Anyway I do appreciate the opinions. I've listened to a lot of good mechanics on the subject express completely opposite views and both can't be right.

What has surprised is the rudeness of some. But I suppose that should never surprise me.

As soon as the pump gets aholdt of it, it is mixed and will never return to its original state. No damage, mix it up all you want.

Don't put gear oil in your engine though. I ran a chevy out of oil on the interstate, it was knocking like hell. All I had was something like 75w-140. I put it in, it stopped knocking. By the time I got home, 3 plugs were fouled, and it was smoking like hell. Didn't blow up, and it got me home. lmao.

Desperate actions for desperate times.
