I too have a Lo and looking at purchasing some apes. I have read on other threads about problems with "death rattle" while riding with apes at high speeds, anyone experience this with a fatboy lo? I am wondering if this was due to purchasing a cheaper thinner/smaller tube but am not really sure as I have never had apes before.
+1 on mocking up a set out of PVC. i'm 5'6 and had no clue what i wanted. with my barebones saddle on the bike i was able to measure out a set to help me decide on 14in Carlinis.
**My recommendation, figure out your seat needs first and then measure for apes.** I only say that because it's a pretty big swing between the stock seat and an aftermarket depending on what profile you go with. When i have my stock seat on, my 14's are too damn low. just my 2 cents
Damn you Story808....I thought I had everything figured out and you just threw a wrench in the works.....
Are those the 1.5 gangsta or the fly'in
Those are the 1.5 Gangsta's... and with that dia. it was the easiest bar I've ever ran wires through... they just kinda fell right through the bars.
On another note with 1.5 dia. we were thinking about trying to run the throttle cables inside the bars? Since theres so much room... but we haven't hide time to try it?
Take your time and be sure... You'll make the right choice!
