no specs that i'm aware...don't need 'em. It covers nothing requiring a seal.

Holy thread resurrection but these are prone to breaking. Spent the evening trying to drill one out. There is no seal so road grime gets to the screws and they snap from the neck. This doesn't matter if you don't plan to switch the cover of course but you could loosen and clean every once in a while.

The real pita are the derby cover screws since they seal and your day is screwed if one snaps.

For the #8-32 pitch screws 18 to 30 Inch / Pounds or 2.0 to 3.4 Newton / Metres of torque will do the job nicely.

A good idea is to replace the torx button head screws with cap heads as they have a larger socket.

I usually don't even read old threads, but I just happen to have an HD reference for this question...

HD calls that cover, the "Timer Cover"....

While HD doesn't list a torque spec in the Service Manual for the timer cover screws... They DO list a torque spec for them in the install instructions for all the accessory timer cover kits they sell...

The official HD torque spec for the timer cover screws is 15-20 inch pounds (1.7-2.3 N-m)...
