Harley doesn't actually assemble their bikes there anyway. That's only done in York, PA and Kansas City. They do make a lot of 'components' there though. Saddlebags, fairings, engines, seats etc. Must be a union contract due sometime in the near future. Will be interesting.
What wheels are on your bike?I would like to put some on my heritage?
Jim
I have allot of people tell me they like the look of the wheels on my bike, which is nice . They are the Harley 43487-04 Conastoga rear and front, and they actually don't break the bank tooo bad considering the price of other wheels.
On the whole union thing . . .yeah, sad deal. I work right by the Nummi plant in Fremont, Ca. that just closed. 5000 people (aprox) unemployed. You can see the impact on the area. On the other hand ,their mentality was;
We want our buck an hr cost of living, we want our medical coverage increased (Mind you the avrg wkr wages were $29 Hr) We want we want we want !! But keep (our) factory open. Toyota did the right thing. F/U!!!
Now Tesla (elec cars) is going in there. They may call back (some) of the workers, but there won't be any union in there. Back in the day, when unions really were "for the workers" they were great. My dad was a Teamster and my mom was United Telegraph Workers so I grew up in it. It's just all about greed now. And the local Machinists Union . . . Please !! WEAK !!!
