Hey Peeps, Got some V&H straight shot slip-ons for my 2010 deluxe. Should I get the dealer to do the download or should I go for the power commander or similar modules? Plan on getting a full exhaust system later on.Thanks
I have a 05 Heritage Softail with V & H Straight Shots (full system) and I explored both possibilities. The dealer advised me to go with a power commander or similar. I ended up installing a TFI controller (the one the dealer said they install instead of remapping) It is a one time install then can change it depending on your set up, as with any of these that are similar. That way if you change anything else you don't have to remapp again, just adjust settings.
Just my .2 cents worth
Call jamie at Fuel Moto and get the PC lll or PC V that he reccomends. Its a one time expense and no matter what you do to the bike in the future your set, Fuel Moto does lifetime MAP support.
The Dealer down load is 100 -150 dollars every time and its still a EPA compliant tune so it will still be lean and not maximizing power

And, the motor will continue to run hot.
PC is a good choice.
