Rowdy82, I am currently in search of the same thing. This is what I have found thus far. I have a Daytona ž helmet which I think is alright. I ordered a Bell Custom 500 which I just sent back for a refund. I like the quality of the Bell compared to the Daytona but it just did not fit as well as I hoped it would. The Daytona definitely is smaller looking on my head. I wanted to try the motoflake helmets but I wanted a black flake or plain black and I have not seen any in that color. So my search continues.
+1, I'm looking for the same thing. Flat black, or black metalflake, low profile, etc.
I have had the Fulmer V2 for over a year now and I love it. I have tried on Biltwell and Daytona 3/4 helmets and I stuck with the V2.
Just serched Fulmer and this is part of their sales policy....WTF...looks like Im not getting a Fulmer
Please be advised that the Arthur Fulmer Company does not permit the sale of Fulmer brand helmets by anyone, anywhere online. We do not sell these helmets on our own website, nor via our authorized dealers individual sites,

They want you to go into a store that carries them for proper fitment so its not a guessing game.I am very happy with my v2 Very nice quality ,fitment etc.It is a DOT so you still get a little of that mushroom look(not bad at all though)I bought the gloss black with the american flag and white stripes down the middle.I think those stripes really break up the crown(middle) for an even less bobble head look.
IMHO I would not waste any money on the Daytona.I bought one new and sold it for 25.00 a week later. They look small on the shelf but when you put them on they have a very akward shape,It almost reminds me of like a easter bonnet. They still have the 1 inch of hard foam to make it DOT.But they are very thin on the sides and back which make them look weird.Plus they come very high on the back of the neck.Wind noise is terrible as there is no padding around the ears, after 60 MPH they are ready to fly off your head and choke the **** out of you.Overall it is a very low quality helmet.I felt safer wearing my Biltwell than that thing. And for a DOT my Fulmer V2 is far ,far better than the Daytona.Hope this helps Tom
I agree with that the padding is thin in the ears, that is my main complaint about the Daytona. I am apprehensive about buying a Fulmer though. I bought a new half helmet Fulmer off ebay because many said they would not make you look like a mushroom, but it is the biggest of my three half helmets. This helmet thing drives me crazy!
I was in my local HD dealer yesterday and they are now selling these retro helmets, they only had a metalflake orange one there but it will come in blue and black also, although not for a couple of months they said. The orange one was very cool, almost bought one. It is actually an AGV helmet.
Here's my Motoflake. The fulmer v2 is larger then the Motoflake. Fulmer is a higher quality helmet. The Motoflake is the same size as the Biltwell but it's DOT.
I just tried one of the new Harley retro helmets on to see how it was compared to my Motoflake, "Houston we have a problem." That friggin thing is HUGE!!!!! It honestly looks like a space helmet and at $195 there is NO way I will be trading my Motoflake for one anytime soon. It has a nicer liner and padding compared to the Motoflake but it is just plain stupid looking. I tried an Aria 3/4 on a while back and it was small than the HD one. Complete waste of R&D if you ask me. Bryan
