MIne just did that over the weekend. I loaded up a A/C compressor in my right saddle bag to take to my buddies. On the way over i let go of the bars at low speed and wow a wobble. After I gave him the compressor I left and on the way home checked to see if it would wobble again. Wobble was gone. The compressor weighed about 15 lbs and was in the right saddle bag. Easy fix!!!!!!!!!!!
Hippy, if the spokes don't cure it, you'll have to do a fall away test to make sure your neck bearing is tight enough. I went through the same thing with my Heritage earlier this year. Checked tire pressure, did the fall away and finally found it to be the rear spokes. It felt like the front was wobbly but it was because the back was "sliding" around
It is not unusual in softails I had 2 an 06 and 07 Heritage they both would wobble at around 25 to 35 hands free. I did have spoke issues on the 06 rear wheel changed to mags front and rear on both bikes. This eliinated the spoke issue but they still had the steering wobble.
I did not do the "Fall Away" check on the neck bearings and have heard repeatedly this is a probable cause?
Bought both bikes new and put over 28,000 on each with no issue but just always held on to the bars.
Always suspected an alignment issue front to rear causing it to track out of line. The rubber swingarm bushing also can twist under load and cause this?
I'm surprised no one mentioned tire pressure.A few pounds can make a BIG difference.Just had a deal like that on my EG.At about 100mph the front end wanted to wobble, uped the front tire to 40 psi it went away.
Checked the tire pressure, they both were low. Put perfect pressure in them, tested, same wobble. Same with spokes. Going to see if mechanic can look at her today, I can't do anymore. Is it safe to ride to the shop?

Can anyone point me to the page in the 2010 manual that will explain how to tighten up the neck bearing? My FBL has the same issue and after reading thread after thread about the issue, I'm almost certain that's what's causing it. Can I tighten them myself and do I need any special tools? What page in the manual will show me what to do? Thanks.
hmmm... dunno... be very alert on the wobble, solow down and get out of the hwy if you notice it's increasing. At what speeds does the wobble starts? 35? 55?
