Default Rocker Keyless Ignition?

I saw the video of the new keyless ignition on the 2011 CVO Convertible. Basically, the kill switch is the ignition. You walk up to the bike, put the kill switch in the "run" position, hit the starter, and ride away.

As a Rocker owner who has both a security fob and a physical key (which is a poor design and a pain in the ***), this just kind of made me mad.

I read a few threads about guys just canning the ignition switch on other Softail models (replacing them with toggle switches, for example). So this got me wondering, is there any way that the kill switch and ignition wiring on the Rocker could be combined to function this way. For example, remove the existing kill switch connections from the kill switch (so it's always in the "run" position logically), then put the two sides of the ignition switch on either side of the physical kill switch. So the kill switch now works like turning the key from "On" to "Off" (which means it also still functions as a kill switch).

If this was possible (and I have no electrical knowledge at all, so I have no idea), it seems like this is pretty close to what the CVO Convertible does. I'm assuming this only makes sense if you have the security fob. You lose the "ACC" mode (but I've literally never used that before and can't imagine when I would). And lastly, some jackass could come up to your bike and turn the kill switch to "Run" when you weren't around and kill your battery (which for how I ride, I'm not too worried about).

Does this sound doable?

It's pricey...but I have been thinking about it.....
not sure if it works with the factory security system...

The easier way, and probably safer if you needed to quickly shut the bike off would be to change out the hand grenade for an aftermarket or other Harley coil and just bypass the key circuit completely. This way the security system will function fine and you don't have to deal with rewiring the hand controls (if I read your question correctly)

I did manage to implement a "semi-keyless" ignition. For day-to-day use, the key/fob never comes out of my pocket. I'm super happy with it and wish I'd done it sooner.

Here are the details (part of a larger coil project)
