Default High Miles???

Local dealer has just taken in an "01 FLSTC. Clean and obviously well maintained. I was there when it in came in, before dealer has had a chance to prep. Really looks nice.
60,000 miles. What do all think?
I hear lots of numbers thrown around for the life of these motors.

John,

You left out the most important number...What's the cost?
I'd buy a 60K bike for the right price and pass if the cost is too high.

For an '01 that is not a lot of miles just a little over 6k per year. Like what was said above... what is the price? You can go to kellybluebook.com put in the info and see what it is worth.

I came up with $7890 trade-in and $10750 retail. I think the retail price is some what high... but I guess it depends on how bad you want the bike.

Looking to get it for less than 8K.
I had the same number in mind you came up with for the trade value.

60K on an "01" does not seem bad at all... Heck, I have 40K on my 08

Carb is better on a 2001. Check for a leak between the primary and transmission by reaching behind the underside of the primary where the main shaft and stuff come through. It can be a costly fix. Just ahd to deal with this on my 2002 with 52K.

Check the swing arm. They have been known to crack around 60K.
