Sounds like I should be happy with it... and no, I don't think they're doing the decompression release valve. They said not to bother until i get the heads done.
If they haven't done the work yet I would get the compression releases installed now. I had manual compression releases installed in my stage II 103 (flat top pistons, 255 cams) and re-starting on hot days without releases will kick back.
Love my combo, makes great torque and good horsepower and all at lower r's.
+1 on compression releases. I wish I had them installed when I built mine. So far no broken starter, but it kicks back pretty hard sometimes and coughs out the air cleaner.
I think you will be happy with that setup, it makes lots of usable power. However, I only get 38mpg now.
+1 on compression releases, i had mine done and hot days it sometimes kicks back to remind me that I forgot to push them in. lol, I have that same set up on my Rocker and third gear full throttle is a real treat.
Go ahead with those 255's if you want they're stump pullers, but I'll race any one of you with those, there are much better cams out there, just do your research. 204's, Woods, Andrews, etc...etc...

You will be going from a 30 degree closing on the stock cams to a 25 on the 255s plus, the bigger bore will make a noticeable difference on starting while hot.If you are dead set on the 255s,a friend of mine put 255s in a 103 build ala stgII & put a andrews -4, yes minus 4 degree gear & actually made 2hp&2tq more on the dyno by retarding them.BTW,My 2010 LTD has ACRs & like others have mentioned the comp releases really help w/kick backs.Keep it simple.I bought my first new dresser:The first year for the FLHT in 1980 & have dumped lots of bucks in em since to make gobs of power. My point; I did a small mouse cam, tts,se Heavy Breather,Fatshots w/18 dics & True duals on my bike.It is the best machine I have owned to present.91hp/104tq w/stock heads. The newer heads flow real well, which helps with that LLDT.
(loveable low down tq)Regards,Tom
Definitely fit the decomps, need them on hot starts.
Also dont expect miracles from the kit in isolation. I felt the difference on my 08 Fatboy but it wasn't huge. I did have racier cams (SE211) but still don't expect a complete transformation.
