Not to be a buzz kill or anything but.......hot start problems for this set up is a tuning issue. Compression releases work but don't go to the heart of the matter. My bike? 09 FLHTCU, 103" stage II w/ SE255 cams V&H Power Duals ect. My tuner addressed this issue for me last year. Very hot in Ohio last year and I had no issues at all after he tweeked the starting fuel using my Pro Tuner. Data logging is an AWESOME thing folks. Ya just gotta know what your doin'.

I don't agree with this, my 103 with 259 cams was "broken in" while it was dyno tuned. Dyno numbers 111.24 hp and 116.94 tq. My builder feels the 259 is a better cam than the 255 but to each is it's own.

Love my combo, makes great torque and good horsepower and all at lower r's.
Ditto on the compression release. But I would go with 10.5 pistons, heads and 257 cam. 7k trouble free miles on mine. To quote the local dealership mechanic after he rode it "If that don't put a smile on your face, nothing will"

Edit: After finishing the thread I see you went with the ACR, good call.

thanks, and no, I'd say it would be a little more involved and a little more expensive to replace, but once they're on, you forget you even have them. I was told I didn't really need any at all, but with everything in pieces anyways, I figured no point torturing the starter every time and doing whatever other damage to the motor.
