Does it whine in gear and under load and in neutral unloaded? or does the whine change if loaded or unloaded?

If you can sit in neutral and hear the whine, and it gets louder with the rpm,...... It sounds like your primary chain adjuster clicked-up a notch or two too much.

A too tight primary chain will have the exact symptoms I described.

O.k now that is very good possibilities, because about 50 miles from my house I was stopped on the side on the busy freeway,so I have to take of like a bat from a hell to jump back on the freeway, that might happen right than..so can something go wrong if that's the case?

its fairly easy to pop the inspection plate off and see how tight the chain is. Just sounds hard but anybody can do it. I don't know what the chain travel limit is supposed to be on those years though. I'm sure someone on here has it memorized.

Holy Smokes, for real? That sounds like the dealer trying to make it harder for the normal guy to work on his own bike. So you need to take the whole primary cover off to look at the chain? did that start when they changed to fuel injection and a six speed transmission?

Sash... Maybe the newer ones like yours have that auto tensioner? You may wanna reseach that. Seeing that the miles are so low maybe you should take it in under the warranty?

I use Bel Ray for the trans and no wine or clank and I can find neutral. I use Motor FactoryŽ Primary Case Lube in the primary. because Amsoil has gone up so much I just switched to Mobil 1 for vtwin and it works as good. I have 58,000 miles in about 3 years and it runs great and no debris in the oil changes.
