Default Springer Handlebar question

I have a 2000 FXSTS Springer with the OEM "buckhorns". I would like to switch to something more comfortable. I have really been leaning towards apes but was wondering if there are any other choices out there where I don't have to switch out all the cables, etc. Any suggestions/pics would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know how tall your current bars are, but you may be able to get by with a set of the 10" mini-apes from a X-bones. In fact, in a few weeks, I will have the bars from my bike that I would be willing to cut a good deal on, I will also have all the cables to go with them....just sayin

They say 2in up or 2in out you dont have to change cables. My 07 springer classic had the wide bars like beach bars stock. Check out road6customs.com they have some 8in apes. Thats what i put on mine and all cables and brake line worked back.

I like Wild One Chubby bars, they have a comfortable angle on the ends for the apes. I'm going to be putting on their 12" mini apes on my xbones. They also have a beach type bar a "t" bar and knuckle bars, see their springer selection..

I will be selling my stock xbones mini apes also, when I get around to switching them. Not sure when I'll have the time so won't be anytime soon..

I’m loving the 12 inch blackout narrow bottom mini apes .... they look awesome wonder if could get away without cable extensions on a Bones if the 2 inch rule holds tru ...

I already have the 12.5 bars and the throttle cables don't really have any slack in them now and neither does the brake line. I can probably get away without changing the clutch cable..
But I'm going to be adding the chrome braided lines as I think some chrome is good..

The service manager at my local dealer is the one that told me the 2in rule when i was doing my bars. I hope it works out for.

Default Wild 1 Info

I talked to a tech at Wild 1. He said the 10" Springer Outlawz should work without having to modify the cables and lines. He was very helpful. I also found out about the "blemished bars" Looks like you can save some serious $ if you go that route. They didn't have any blem Outlawz in stock for my bike but they will take your info (and credit card #) and ship you a set when available.
