Default 2010 Heritage classinc Saddle Bag help.

For the life of me I can't find my Harley catalog and over the phone I'm not getting much help from the Harley dealership regarding parts for my bike...... so if anyone has first hand knowledge of the items I would need I would surely appreciate your knowledge in the area.

I want to be able to quick disconnect my sissybar upright to install a tour pack rack and bag.. I also want to be about to quick disconnect the bags from time to time..

If I remember right, the catalog said something about bikes having factory installed bags use a different docking system...

I know I need side plates, docking gizzmoes, and perhaps something to make the saddlebags easy to remove but can't remember if Harley offers such a thing?!

My main concern is: Is there enough space between the fender rails and the bags for the use of the docking gizzmoes? Thanks for any light on the subject..

For attaching and detaching HD parts you only need the docking hardware kit and detachable sideplates for your sissy bar. My catalog only goes up to 2007 but any dealer should be able to tell you what parts you need.

My bags never come off so can't help you with the ez off question. I'm not aware of any kit offered by the MoCo.

I have done just what you want to do on my 2004. I used Easy Brackets for the bags. They come with the mounting studs. When you order specify you want the ones that work with the harley detachable backrest setup because you need longer bolts to accomodate both detachable accessories. Harley has the other parts for the backrest and tourpack. The tourpack mounts to the same hardware as the detachable backrest so that should be easy. It's basically a narrow rubber grommet with a groove in it for the front mount and a wider one for the rear that the quick connect gizmo slips over, and the notched side plates for the backrest. Sorry but I'm not familiar with the harley detachable saddlebag setup since it was not available in 2004.

Wow!! I just looked at my 2010 parts catalogue and I'm not surprised the dealer is dumbfounded. It is very confusing. I have found that when I research for awhile I tend to know more than some of the people I talk to at the dealership about my particular bike. there's alot of "fits this but not that except if......" They have so many bikes to know so being an expert on a particular bike is tough. Get a copy of the parts catalogue yourself and pour over what you are looking for.

My wife installed the HD docking kit with barebacks. The barebacks are an aftermarket quick saddlebag detach kit.
Detachable Hardware kit 53931-03 $39.95
Bare Back Kit 7807-0039 149.95
Bare Back Caps 0706-0002 36.95
Hope this helps...

Hay thanks for the help and a lead in the right direction.. Still have some confusion in some areas as I did talk with the dealer and even the behind the counter techs are confused as there were several opnions on the right stuff between two counter techs!? Time for checking out a different dealership.
