Last time I checked I was in the 48 mpg range ... doing a steady 70 on the freeway I might get 50 ... I've got a mild stage 1 upgrade (pipes and intake) and a T-max ECM on a 2010 FLSTFB. I keep the tires to factory spec pressure.
Finally got to check my mpg, getting around 42-43 combined.
I would like to mention that those figures are with 10% Ethanol.
The reason I mention this is that I found a station that sells Ethanol free gas near me. http://pure-gas.org/
When I first read some of the info on the site I was skeptical.
The fact I can prove is that if I run Ethanol free I get 6-8 mpg better.
The non-empirical things I have noticed is that my bike feels like it is running smoother, cooler and has a bit more power.
Darn ... you got my hopes up ... ethanol sucks in a v-twin ... I looked up the website you provided .. checked for my podunk town .. and lo and behold .. it says we have an ethanol-free station ... WRONG! Not even the correct oil company ... and I know for a fact ... given this town is a one-horse affair they sell ethanol-tainted fuel ... darn it ...
