I have a 2008 Rocker C and just put a Danny Gray seat on it and I'm trying to find out if the shock can be adjusted to keep the rear fender from bouncing up and hitting the seat while riding. Any help would be helpful......
I assume(bad word) that you mean nuts....
no , they just allow you clearance to turn the adjusting plate ..read , your manual , or a few threads about it
I googled this and see where some guys have used channel locks and a rag to turn the shocks or a strap wrench. Since the spanner susposedly only costs around $10 I think I'll pick one up. I love having the right tools and when you consider the money you're saving, it's a no brainer.
I dont have a lift so I used a oil filter strap wrench and it worked great. I have a spanner wrench but I could not get it in there due to ground clearence plus I didnt need to turn it a quarter of a turn to line up the next set of holes like with the spanner. I took mine up three threads and wished I did this the day I bought it. Way better ride especialy after I put SE heavy oil in the forks.
I made my own spanner just because I could. I took two pieces of 1/2" wide strap iron by about 1/8" thick, and maybe 10" long. I bolted them together at one end, and drilled holes in the other ends for a couple of #10-32 bolts. Makes a nice adjustable spanner. It was easier than driving 22 miles to the Harley shop.
