Hi Guys,
I hope this post is in the right section?
I have a 2006 Heritage FLSTC with a genuine HD moustache engine guard. On a recent ride I lost the LH side foot rubber from the top of the guard.
Harley does not list the foot rubbers as separate parts and the dealers in Australia said they are not available as a spare part. Their solution is to buy a new engine guard!
Does anyone know of anybody that may have a damaged engine guard and is willing to part with one of the foot rubbers. Any dismantlers that you may know that might have one?
All suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks
The paperwork that came with my mustach guards (which will be on-line also) does list a part number for the rubber pieces. I'd think they can be bought.
Wow! Guess this guy thought my offer was too good to be true.
Thank you for your very generous offer Shane. I have been away and this is the first opportunity that I have had to respond.
My post was the first time that I have posted in any forum.
I now have to work out how to PM my address to you!
Many Thanks and gratitude to you.
Cheers,
Erp
Hi StreetGeezer,
Thanks for your post and info. I hadn't tried Lindby and now I have a very generous offer to have the foot rubbers off HoggyMtnBreakdown's moustache guard. So, hopefully I won't have to resort to trying the Lindby ones.
Thanks again,
Erp
I have a Lindby Multi-Bar on the '07 Heritage, and it's almost new. I noticed the rubber on the right side is already starting to slide outward. Looks like it's glued on somehow. I thought about drilling through the tubewall on the trailing side and putting a stainless screw & decorative washer or something to hold them, but decided instead to use two 1/4" wide black nylon wire ties on each one, cinched down tight. Looks fine, & they're secure now.
The paperwork that came with my mustach guards (which will be on-line also) does list a part number for the rubber pieces. I'd think they can be bought.
Hi GMan,
Common sense says that they should be available as a spare part but HD in Sydney are
adamant that they are not.
HoggyMtnBreakdown has offered me the rubbers off his moustache bar which is fantastic.
Thanks for your reply.
