I have 16" apes on mine with stock risers. I am 6'3 and my hands are right at, or very slightly below, my shoulders when riding.

I recently had Burly 16's installed on my 06 Heritage and love them. I'm around 5,11 and also have the Mustang seat with rider back rest on my bike for back issues. The 16's are a huge improvement over the stock bars and are as confortable as hell.Oh and they look cool as well.

That hands down is the funniest comment....

the perfect hadlebar for who? A guy 6'4 and a guy 5'9 are not going to both find 16" bars to be the ideal handlebar height.

Thanks for all the great info. I'm 5'11", I'll try the broom stick thing tonight. It'll be winter before I actually get my apes. I'll let you all know what I go with.

Thanks again

Rick

I'm in the process of switching from the stock bars (12" rise) to the Harley 16" Fat Ape/Riser Combo.

I'm still waiting for the cables, but I've got the Risers and Bar mounted.

I was afraid it would be too high, but it's perfect. Can't wait til can get the cables on and take it for a ride.

Once again the Dr has the cure. That is the only really useful advice I have seen anywhere about choosing apes. Why didn't I think of that before I got my 12" mini-apes and have been wishing I went with 16"s ever since
