The job of the power commander is to add/subtract fuel where it is needed, an auto tuner isnt going to lean out the program necessarily. Check your plugs and see what color they are burning. Obviously if they are black its too rich. If its burning a nice golden brown, then thats what it needs. Have it dyno tuned and tell the tuner that economy is a concern. Gas, however, is way cheaper than an engine rebuild.

Good question. I have been debating whether or not to go auto tune myself.

I've been told the autotune is only needed if you are making a lot of changes and not all at once. It will save you tuning/dyno time. You also will need to put O2 sensors back in for autotune so make sure your exhaust has ports for these.

Just curious, what kind of mileage are you seeing?
Only change I've made is the FatCat exhaust, no stage 1, bike runs around 200 degrees and consistently gets 45-48mpg. I kicking around the idea of going with a tuner and stage 1 but don't want the sh%tty mileage that seems to go with it.

my plugs are fine,I beleive it is the mapping I have hooker long shots which I cut down and I cant find a map for these pipes so we went with the map for the v& h staggerd pipes which is the closest to what I am running.I asked Jaime at fuel moto and they sent me a map for the hooker troublemakers which I dont think will help me either.

I really never figured out the mpg but I go by how many miles I get out of a tank which has been around 115 -120 the guys I am riding with get way more with the same tank size and we fill up at the same time.they are getting 160 miles and more how is that possible.

Their correct. My reserve light doesn't kick on until 160 and I've had it not come on until 170-175. Do you top off the tank?
I'd have to bite the bullet and have it dyno'ed to see what the readings are.

The techs at power commander are pretty good about steering you in the direction you need to go as far as map choice. I'd suggest giving them a holler before you invest in an auto tuner or dyno tune for a custom map. There are places renting auto tuners too Ive heard.....might be worth the research to see what thats all about.
