Default '06 Softail Deluxe Cams

Anybody have a part number for SE cams that will work for a stock 88 for a a 2006 Softail? Looked high and low but can't find this info. If I recall, I thought the SE203's would work but I am not having luck finding them. Anyone running cams on a stock 88? If so, what do you have? Thank you!

SE 203 will work fine...I have a 88" and use Andrews 26's.

I run the 203's in my twin cam. There was a nice bump in low end when i installed them. There are more than a few Screaming Eagle cams out there. 203,204,211,255.....to name a few.
Here is the part number you need.

Thanks for all that info Dr V-Twin. Now I have to decide whether to go with Andrews 21N's or the SE203. I am seriously considering the SE as my choice. After the cams I may go with an SE95 kit but I'd like to see what kind of performance I get out of cams alone before dropping the money on a 95. I am not looking for a race bike...just a little more oomph. Would you or anyone else out there reading happen to know how many hours roughly a dealer should take installing cams only? Thanks again.

It makes more sense to do the cams and the 95" kit at the same time as you will already be halfway to the engine build doing the cams. I did mine separately as well, but did a full cam and 95 kit this weekend on a friends bike.

Theoretically it should be about 4 hours. Dealer's gonna nail you for 6-8, and take 3 days to do it. I know a shop on the west coast that will knock it out same day and it'll only cost you a pizza.

Runnin 21's. Installing a 2n1 provided a bump also compared to bss. What are your plans for fuel management?

Wish I was on the West coast. Seems like there are a lot more choices in quality independent cycle shops out there. I travel to LA and OC quite frequently for work and I love checking out all the custom bikes out there!

I just confirmed with dealer on the total number of hours and he quoted me 6 hours for a total of $420. Thats $70 an hour, which is lower than many indy rates. 6 hours still seems a little long though. Labor is going to cost more than the parts for this upgrade. Good thing I am bringing my own parts instead of paying HD retail. I do a lot of my own work but I just dont have the tools or experience to do cams properly on my own.

Using a V&H Fuel Pak for fuel mgmt. Not really looking to drop the extra coin in new Fuel Mgmt but if I had to do it all over again, I would have went with a Power Commander. I contacted V&H for the map settings for what I want to do and they were able to come up with something that will work....
