Default LED turn signals ?????????

Hoping someone can point me in a direction. Have a 2010 FatBoy and just put on the Harley LED tail light (thanks Doc V Twin) and would like to find some LED turn signals for the front and rear. I have looked but really have found nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I see there are converters for LED and do I need one? ( no alarm on my bike) If I do where can I mount it? I am under the understanding from when I ordered my PC-5 from Fuel Moto that the FatBoy model is the one with no room and it was a bitch to put the PC-5 under there and there is no room for anything else. Can I go with LED bulbs? I do not care if I need to take the stock turn signals off and replace. I thought someone made strut ones but not sure and are they legal for inspection?
Sorry in advance for all the questions.
Thanks

I have the Alloy Art strut turn signals on my 2010 and I like em. Don’t think they are DOT approved though, not sure.

http://www.alloyart.com/softailstrutlights.html

With just the rear LED’s the electrical system will handle the load change. Disconnect the battery, then reconnect it, then cycle the right turn signal on/off, then the left. The blink rate then goes back to the proper frequency. If you change the front to LED’s as well as the back, then you will have to add a load equalizer to get the proper blink frequency. If you do, be sure to get the electronic type, they don’t over heat like the resistor network types. Here is one kind from biketronics:

http://www.biketronics.com/products/...Equalizer.html

The equalizer plugs in series with the rear light connector under the seat. There is room, it’s tight but there is room. I have a FuelPak under my seat and I know what you mean about space. The Biketronics module has a long lead on it so you can position it in whatever little nook you can find.

I don’t need the equalizer because I am only running rear LED’s. I do however have a running light module for them from Biketronics, it’s the same size as the equalizer and plugs inline in the same manner. It makes the turn signals into all 3 functions: running, brake and turn signal. I think HD might make one of these as well.

Hope that helps a little….

You will need a load equalizer for the front and one for the rear. I thionk therye should be room under the seat for the load equalizer, I have one under my seat although my bike is a bit older (2002). I like the Heartland teardrop signals as they are sleek looking. The alloy art rear signals are nice too.

The load equalizer makes it so the signals blink at the appropriate rate. With the low electrical draw of an LED, the bike will pump out too much power to the signals without the load equalizer causing the signals to blink extremely fast.

The Heartland signals are $219 set. There are plenty of other options, but of all the signals I ahve seen up close and personal, these and the alloy arts take the cake for quality and styling.

You would NOT need two equalizers for a four signal set-up. One for all will cover it.

I'm using a Biketronics equalizer with custom signal inserts from heavycycles.com on my Night Train and Customdynamics.com lights and equalizer on my Road Glide. They all work great!

I never needed an equalizer for the rear LED's.

I used LED bulbs from autozone in my turn signals and running/brake light. They work great and extremely bright. Below are picks of a red LED i put in an old bullet style turnsignal I had lying around. I moded it up as a rear safety light.

Did not need a load equalizer.

That's correct, just one equalizer for the whole enchilada. But if you are only doing the rears, or only doing the fronts.... then do the recalibration that I outlined in the prior post. That recalibration proceedure, by the way, only works on the late models. Not sure what years exactly, but certainly the 2010 models. I spoke with Biketronics regarding this and they confirmed it.

My mistake guys. I don't have front LED's on my bike and i guess that is why I don't know the answer. Thanks for correcting me.
