Have been looking for a laydown style tail light replacement for my Fat Boy. Just finding red plastic versions. Is there a chrome alternative out there without going to a tombstone shape? Someone must make a replacement laydown style that has some chrome on it. Thanks, Ed
Thanks guys. Nice looking tail light. It is a laydown style and I have looked at it and was trying to find that exact kind of tail light with more chrome on it. Your light is available in a "blackout" version (edges all black) but I would like one edged with chrome instead. If i can't find the chrome, I will likely go with the one you guys have. When you use the smoked lense, I assume you use a red bulb. Doesn't that make the light coming through for the license plate red rather than white? Thanks again for the help. Ed

No Ed,
This is a L.E.D. plug and play conversion kit. No bulb in it. Just red L.E.D.s
You remove the red plastic (stock), remove the bulb and place the new connector in the bulb's socket, then you just screw the new smoked lens which contains the L.E.D.s array using your stock screws.
So no extra load equalizer or whatever it's called required?
cool!
I wonder how they'd look with HD turn signals with the smoked lenses?
I kinda like this one .. part# 4959 in plain smoked without the chrome strip.
No Babs, no Load Eq. needed since it is a running and braking light only with a constant demand of electric load.
The load eq. is required only in turn signals because the load dragged by the bulbs is bigger than the one from the L.E.D.s, So if you place the L.E.D.s insert without the Load Eq. the circuit won't interrupt and you won't have flashing turn signals they will remain lighted without blinking
Well, you can view mine. Might be a better pic in my profile gallery. I have that same taillight and smoked turn signal lenses on shorter stalks. I love the look of it!! Now I just need to pick up a load equalizer for the turn signal LEDs.
