Default New Engine builds

Just got my HOG magazine, and I must say the new Screamin Eagle engine builds looks, awe inspiring.

Just wondering what you all think about the price?

I thought the price was really good if there is no exchange of anything. That's a lot of power for the money. I think they'll sell some of those. I wouldn't put one on my bike though. You'll just go out and get beat by a 600cc sport bike.

Power is a very addictive drug! Just when you think you have enough, you decide that more is needed.....With that being said, there are better kits out there than the ones made by the MOCO.

For the price, what would you recommend?

I've got a friend that has over $6000 in his engine and it still has problems. This looks good to me.

Depends on what you're looking for. My suggestion would be to find a well respected builder, and explain to him what you're looking for. Discuss how you ride, what RPM range you're looking for the power to be in, and budget. From there, he can suggest to you what should work.

That sucks. Just keep in mind- more $$$ doesn't always mean a problem-free motor. You can buy the best of everything, but if the parts chosen don't compliment or work well together, then you have a lot of $$$ spent, and nothing to show for it.

I refer to my 113" build as a "Science Project." I call it that because I didn't go to a builder, like T-Man, Head Quarters, GMR Performance, Hillside, etc and say "I want an engine- what do you suggest?" I could have, and in the long run, it would have been cheaper. Instead, I pieced my build together, but did it with a lot of research.

The engine could be more refined, like a Timken crank bearing, a welded crank and roller rockers but, on balance, a lot of engine for the money. You can't build one for that price. The dynos are starting to show up and the last one I saw achieved very near the advertised 135HP out of the box.

If I had a later model and wanted an upgrade in power, this is the route I would go.
