man that pulled some heart strings my best buddy bought a used 84 that year from a banker it was fairly rare to see one the engine serial #s had a bunch of stars in it not numbers he rode it to Sturgis that year and was treated like the new kid on the block it was a black one and I fell in love with it I finally got mine 6 months later it was an 85 model last year for chain drive kicker and 4 speed trans oh the memories we rode them to Sturgis in1988 and arrived on 8-8-88 Thanks FLH80 I'll post some pics and put them in my alblum
Very interesting article. I didn't realize Softails were as "young" as they are. I always thought they were introduced in the 70's. I will go back and revist my Harley history books :-)
